The first phase of the big repair and restore project for the TreeHouse has been completed by the Lochcarron Mens shed and Lochcarron Community Development Company volunteers. We thank them for all their hard work. Much gratitude also to the Lochcarron Community Council for their grant to Lochcarron Community Development Company for the replacement timber.

It was one of those jobs that grew arms and legs as more rot was discovered as they went. These old timbers have been taken out and replaced where possible. Extra support has been added in, in a belt and braces approach. The bad news is that the much loved balcony has gone, but the good news is that this opens up a great view of the river. The volunteers will be back to build balcony version2 later in the summer.

If anyone local has any volunteering time, we need a hand painting some woodstain on some timbers, as our own businesses are in full swing for the season, so spare time is lacking!

The treehouse is currently available for Hire as usual. We are working up a great programme if events for the rest of the year. If anyone has any ideas and suggestions, please get in touch via treehouselochcarron@gmail.com.
